Full House Wiring & Rewiring

When was the last time you checked what’s hiding behind your walls? If your home is over 20 or 30 years old, chances are the original wiring is still there, quietly aging out of sight. Old wires do not last forever. They crack, overheat and struggle to handle today’s appliances. Many homeowners wait until something goes wrong, but by then, it might be too late.At Tronica Engineering, we help homeowners replace outdated or unsafe wiring before it becomes a danger. Whether it’s full rewiring or new installation, our experienced wiremen ensure your electrical system is safe, stable and ready for anything.

Why Wiring Matters More Than You Think

Electricity is something we use every single day, yet most people never think about the wiring that powers it all. Lights, fans, air-conditioners, chargers, ovens, gate motors — everything depends on safe wiring. If your home was built before the 1990s, it was never designed to handle the power load we use today. Modern homes require stronger, safer, higher quality and smarter wiring. Outdated systems not only limit your lifestyle, they also pose serious safety risks. Electrical faults are one of the top causes of house fires in Malaysia, and bad wiring is often the reason.

Signs Your Home Needs Rewiring

Here are the most common indicators that your home may need a full rewiring:

  • Frequent tripping of the MCB or main switch
  • A burning smell from switches or power points
  • Lights flickering or dimming when appliances are used
  • Shocks or tingling sensations when touching plugs or appliances
  • Old wiring types such as black rubber, cloth or aluminium wires
  • No RCCB or SPD installed to protect your system
  • Wires installed without following proper specifications
  • Undersized wires
  • Over the years, you’ve had different electricians loop the power points and light points
  • House built over 30 years ago without previous rewiring

Even if everything seems fine on the surface, old wiring can silently fail inside the walls and ceilings. The earlier you act, the safer your home becomes.

What’s Involved in Full House Wiring & Rewiring

When we talk about full house wiring or rewiring, we are not just replacing a few wires. This is a complete electrical overhaul designed to bring your home up to modern standards. We typically begin with concealed or surface-mounted wiring installation, depending on your home type and whether renovation is involved. New, high-quality cables are installed safely inside walls or trunking.

Next, we upgrade the main distribution board, replacing it with a modern DB box that includes MCBs, RCCBs, and SPDs. Every circuit will be clearly labeled and organized to make future maintenance easier. We also replace the wiring to all power points and lighting circuits throughout the house. If necessary, we can relocate or add new points based on your needs and furniture layout. An essential part of the process is the installation or upgrade of your earthing system. This includes connecting an earth rod using 10mm or 16mm earth cables to ensure fault current can safely discharge into the ground. Lastly, we install proper safety devices like RCCBs and SPDs to protect against electrocution, surges, and lightning strikes.

What We Often Find Behind Walls

We’ve opened up walls and ceilings in homes across Shah Alam, Subang Jaya, Klang, and Petaling Jaya. Many homeowners are shocked by what we discover. In older homes, we frequently find melted wire insulation, loose or corroded connections, live wires without grounding, or exposed joints wrapped with low-quality tape. In some cases, there are traces of DIY or mixed-brand (“rojak”) wiring systems that were never properly tested or protected. We also see non-compliant components that can barely support modern loads.

On the surface, the lights might turn on. But inside the walls, the system may be one spark away from failure.

Why Homeowners Choose Tronica Engineering

Unlike some contractors who only scan and walk away, we are trained to inspect, identify, and fix electrical hazards immediately. Our experienced wiremen carry out full rewiring work with accuracy and a long-term focus. We do not leave you with more problems or delays. We give you real solutions.

Here’s why homeowners trust us:

We are full-time, experienced wiremen who do not cut corners. We use proper test equipment to trace faults, not just cheap tools. We can perform repairs or upgrades immediately after inspection, if necessary. Our pricing is clear, and we explain everything before work begins. We provide proper labeling and a clean finish once the job is complete.

When Is the Right Time to Rewire?

While rewiring can be done at any time, these are the best moments to consider it:

  • If you are renovating your house, it is easier and cheaper to access walls and ceilings during the renovation.
  • If you are moving into a home built more than 20 to 30 years ago, it is safer to start fresh.
  • If your DB box is outdated or your appliances frequently trip the circuit, rewiring may be urgently needed.
  • If you plan to install new appliances such as air-conditioners, water heaters, ovens, or EV chargers, upgrading your wiring will prevent overloads and ensure reliable performance.
  • If you are selling or renting out your property, upgrading the wiring adds value and shows you care about safety.

How Long Does Rewiring Take?

For a typical double-storey terrace or semi-detached house, rewiring usually takes between 3 to 7 working days. The timeline depends on the house size, how much wiring needs to be replaced, and whether any plaster or wall work is required. We work one room at a time to minimise disruption and always clean up after ourselves.

Transparent Pricing and Consultation

Before we begin, we conduct a detailed walkthrough of your home and assess the condition of the existing wiring. After inspection, we provide a clear, itemised quotation. There are no hidden charges or vague descriptions. We explain everything, including which cables we use, where your DB box will go, and how many circuits will be installed.

You’ll also get guidance on how many power points and lights are suitable for each room, how to improve layout, and how to future-proof your system. If you agree, we can begin work immediately. No delays, no back and forth.

Don’t Wait Until Something Goes Wrong

We’ve seen too many cases where homeowners ignored early signs or assumed things were fine until they were proven wrong. That moment of “I thought it was okay” often comes after a serious failure — like a blackout, fire or appliance damage. Wiring is not something you can check just by flipping a switch. It requires real testing, inspection, and professional judgment.

We Don’t Use Cheap Wires

We typically use Mega Kabel wires for all our projects, as they offer reliable quality and performance. However, we’re also flexible based on the customer’s budget. That said, we do not use any ultra low-quality wires, elcb, mcb or components, even for lower-budget jobs. Safety, durability and compliance are non-negotiable. If you’re looking for the absolute cheapest materials, we are probably not the right contractor. We believe in doing it right the first time.

We’re Not the Cheapest

Please don’t call just to ask how much per foot for wiring or how much for a power point. Our pricing isn’t based on simple numbers like that. Every job is different – different layout, different materials and different conditions. Most importantly, our time, skillset and experience are valuable. We don’t just install wires or sockets. We deliver high-quality, long-lasting electrical work that’s safe, compliant and built to last for many years to come.

We don’t cut corners and we don’t use rojak materials. If you’re only looking for the lowest price, we’re not the right fit. But if you care about safety, performance, and peace of mind, we’re ready to help.

Please Understand Before Asking for Price

We sometimes get calls from people who keep asking for a price over the phone, without even showing us their DB box, switches or power points. And when we mention a number, they respond with a big “whoa whoa whoa” like we just spoke in an alien language. What they do not realise is that they are creating problems for themselves and for the next electrician who comes in to fix the mess. Some enquiries have already hit a wall, yet they are still searching for the cheapest quote. This kind of mindset never leads to progress. People like this will never grow and will keep facing problems and always end up looking for someone to fix what went wrong.

The truth is, electrical work is not just about throwing a few wires and sockets around. Every job is different and proper pricing depends on the actual condition of your setup, the materials required, and the work involved. We do not give random estimates just to win jobs. We give honest, quality work that lasts for years, done properly, not cheaply. If you want it done right, we are here. If you just want the cheapest price, there are others who might suit you better.

Homeowners Who Took Action

A customer in Kota Kemuning bought a 40-year-old house and thought everything was fine. During inspection, we discovered brittle, black rubber wiring from the 1980s, with several loose joints. We also noticed that many of the MCBs were rated at C32, which is far too high for normal lighting and power circuits. This kind of setup is extremely risky, the RCCB won’t trip even if there’s a fault.

In our opinion, the reason is simple: the previous electrician didn’t want the DB to trip, so he could finish the job quickly, avoid complaints, and get paid. But in doing so, the safety of the whole system was compromised. The customer agreed to full rewiring before starting their renovation. Now their DB is protected with modern MCBs, RCCBs, SPD and proper earthing system.

In Subang Jaya, another client had a problem where the circuit kept tripping every time the oven and air-conditioner were turned on together. Using thermal imaging and load testing, we found one of the circuits overheating due to undersized cables. We rewired the kitchen and living room circuits the same day. One couple in Klang originally wanted to save money by keeping the old wiring. After seeing our inspection photos, they realised the risk was too high and decided to rewire. They now have peace of mind knowing their system is built to handle modern appliances safely.
